A fourth-year Moi University student pursuing a degree course in Education Arts (Geography and C.R.E ) was found dead in his room on Saturday.
The body of Fransisco Wawire was discovered at the university's C Houses by his friends who had gone to check on him.
Further reports suggest that the student who comes from Navakholo Constituency may have been dead for several days because of the awful smell in the room.
According to his friends, calls to his phone had been going through but there were no responses. The late Wawire had been sick and weak the last day he sat for his examinations.
Students have taken to social media to offer condolence to the bereaved family.
December seems to be a sorrowful month for the Kesses-based institution as this is not the first student to be reported dead for this month alone.
Earlier this week, a student who had been caught stealing was beaten during a mob justice and died on his way to the hospital.
Most of the comrades have however come out to condemn the act saying it was not only unjust but also uncivilized.
