Political analyst Dr Onyango Ochieng Jr has bluntly stated that immediate former Jubilee Party Interim vice-chairman David Murathe resigned after realising that the party is allegedly dead.
The analyst purports that the party died last year when opposition leader Raila Odinga under NASA coalition refused to participate in the repeat presidential polls on October 26, 2017.
“Jubilee went the PNU way the moment Raila Odinga rejected to go for a re-run. Jubilee is a dead cow,” says Ochieng in a video posted on Albert Nyakundi Amenya’s Facebook page.
“He (Murathe) woke up in the morning and noticed Jubilee is dead as a doodle..It is dead (Jubilee Party) and what you are seeing is a corpse on the table,” adds the analyst.
Onyango further offers that Murathe’s resignation was to also allow him concentrate with his “State House” job where he is allegedly an advisor to the President.
He also says that Murathe’s resignation is no blessing for Deputy President William Ruto.
Murathe’s anti-Ruto presidency remarks, says the analyst, speak for a larger group of people who discuss the matter privately but are not brave enough to say it publicly like he has in the last two weeks.
However, Jubilee Party secretary-general Raphael Tuju on Wednesday dismissed notions that the party is on the verge of collapsing.
Tuju in a press conference told journalists that there is a difference in opinion among its members which in no way should be seen as a breakout.
