Kisumu Central MP Fred Odhiambo Ouda says that whereas the Head of State has shown unrivalled commitment in the war against corruption, some of his lieutenants led by his Deputy DrWilliam Ruto are not reading from the same script.

“We have one arm of government led by President Uhuru Kenyatta saying I have faith in my men, I have faith in these institutions; and we have another arm calling for the sacking of individuals put in charge of institutions fighting corruption,” he said.

“That is why I am telling you the president has somehow been held hostage,” Ouda told K24’s Fred Indimuli during an interview on Sunday night.

He urged the president to remain steadfast in the war against corruption.

“President, kindly assert your position when it comes to the issues of corruption. Do not be cowed down,” he added.

The Head of State will deliver the State of the Nation address in a joint parliamentary sitting on Thursday, where he is expected to reaffirm his commitment in the war against graft.
