Odinga is mobilising resources among AU nations to better infrastructure that will enhance good road, water and air transports.

At Accra, Odinga met President Nana Akufo-Addo, who is also his longtime friend and discussed the integration of the continent through infrastructure.

"As Africans, we need to expedite the integration of our continent through infrastructure, in order to promote economic growth and sustainable development. This was at the heart of our discussion as I wound up my tour with a visit to President Nana Akufo-Addo in Accra," said Odinga.

On Monday, Odinga visited Niger where he met President Mahamadou Issoufou and discussed on promoting free trade and generation of power from Inga Dam located in Congo.

"Held talks with President Mahamadou Issoufou of Niger on the African Continental Free Trade Area, the Inga Dam as well as the open skies agreement. We also discussed the upcoming AU summit in Niamey," wrote Odinga.

On Friday, Odinga started his trip at Kinshasa where he held talks with President Felix Tshisekedi and visited Inga Dam that serves Central and West Africa region with hydroelectric power.

Back at home, the African Union envoy has been under attacks from a team allied to Deputy President William Ruto, which accuses him of being an accomplice in the fake gold scandal. But preliminary investigations have delinked Odinga from the scam.

Raila was appointed to the position in October 2018.
