Political analyst Herman Manyora has doubted possibilities of opposition leader Raila Odinga being in the list of President Uhuru Kenyatta's preferred successors.

Speaking in Nyeri late last year, Uhuru cautioned politicians against attempting to predict his preferred successor, promising them a shocker when the time comes.

But with some people arguing that the same could be Odinga, basing on his closeness with Uhuru, Manyora says that the same is very far from the truth.

He said that with the nation already observing him as the possible man for Uhuru, Raila's endorsement will not be surprising, proof enough that he is not on the list.

He said that the same applies to Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) leader Kalonzo Musyoka who is also close to Uhuru and who served as Vice President in the last regime.

"It's not Raila, and it's not Kalonzo either. Kalonzo has been close to the position and served as Vice President for 5 years. Uhuru's declaration is supposed to surprise the nation and the two will not bring any surprise," he said in his YouTube analysis.

The same, he added, will be the case for the side of Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi who served as Raila's Deputy Premier in the Grand Coalition Government.

He said that many Kenyans observe Mudavadi as a good option for Raila basing on his softness and docile politicking, a factor that excludes him from the list.

"Many people observe Mudavadi as the clean pair of hands and a neutral man who harms no one. His endorsement will not be a surprise in any way," he claimed.
