The committee was deployed after the two leaders' truce on March 9.

It seeks to collect the views of Kenyans in line with the national restoration and unification campaign by by the leaders.

However, the narrative that the team will propose the way forward after concluding the job seems like just a scheme to hide something bigger.

The team will most likely settle on constitutional reforms once done, considering that both Uhuru and Raila have since hinted that a referendum is on its way.

Consisting of individuals allied to the leaders and not Non Governmental Organizations or private entities, they will most likely just echo the two leaders' wishes.

Raila has been pushing for constitutional changes to among others, expand the executive and reintroduce the parliamentary governance system.

Uhuru appeared to support in Kisumu on December 13, when he stressed on the need for Kenyans to come out of the 'winner takes it all' system.

Also, the truth is that most Kenyans are in support of the changes, meaning that the taskforce has another reason to arrive at a referendum as its conclusion.

In Kenya where most citizens blindly follow and comply with the suggestions of politicians, most of whom are in support of the same, most of them (Kenyans) will throw their weight behind the reforms.

This makes the a referendum an inevitable conclusion when it submits its results in 2019.
