However, one prime case that will determine his political fate is the high-profile shooting of Idris Mukhtar, a former employee of the county.

To begin with, Korane has an uphill task in defending himself in the case where he has been implicated by some as the major mastermind of the shooting.

As was widely reported by several media outlets, Korane allegedly hired gunmen to eliminate Idris who was directly involved in a case challenging the legitimacy of his academic credentials from a city university.

If he is found guilty in the offence, Korane will be charged with attempted murder and will serve a jail term of not less than 14 years.

And as the law states, individuals holding public offices automatically lose their positions if jailed for a term exceeding six months.

With this, Korane's career will have come to a dead end.

On the other hand, if he comes out clean in the current case, Korane will be even more stronger as his followers will be more determined to support him.

He will have solid grounds to challenge his rivals who might have been planning to humiliate him over the issue.

This is why Korane needs to seek the services of seasoned lawyers to defend him so as to widen the prospects of his coming out clean.
