Nominated Member of Parliament Maina Kamanda on Saturday weighed in on the sacking of Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri.
Speaking at the Kakamega’s Bukhungu stadium, Kamanda said that the head of state made a wise decision to reorganize his cabinet leading to the firing of the CS.
He said that Kiunjuri proved that he is corrupt during his tenure in office. The lawmaker said that the ministry of Agriculture will perform better after the sacking of the Kiunjuri.
“Uhuru chased away the thief in the Agriculture docket. Now he is not part of the government (Uhuru alimfukuza ....mwizi wa agriculture......sasa hayuko kwa serikali)” he said.
On the issue of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report, Kamanda urged western region leaders to unite.
“As people of Western Kenya, I advice you to bring all your leaders together,” he said.
He also said that the BBI meeting is the fruit of the handshake between Uhuru and Raila.
