Most untimely deaths that arise from road accidents are usually as a result of careless overtaking. It is always important to ask yourself whether or not to overtake a car in front of you while driving.
Is there a car coming in the opposite direction? Is it really safe, convenient and legal? These are the questions you should ask yourself before passing that slowly moving car.
Here are the places you should never overtake even if you are in a hurry;
1. On a bridge
It is dangerous to overtake a moving car when on a bridge. Even if you are trying to catch up with something, don't make a mistake of overtaking as this may lead to a head-on collision with opposing cars.
2. On a bend
Chances of your car ramming into an opposing car are high. You may want to overtake because the road might seem clear to you which is risky. However, try as much as possible to avoid overtaking that car. You can safely overtake it after you have all driven past the bend.
3. Sharp slopes
If you don't want to lose your life, then steer clear of overtaking on sharp slopes. Your brakes might fail to work and guess what? You might ram into an opposing moving car. So, be on the lookout when you want to overtake.
4. Mountains and hills
Here, after overtaking you may not be able to see the front clearly. The probability of colliding with another car is awfully high.
