Beaches and world class hotels among other coastal features have made the city a place for everyone.

However, besides so many beautiful activities and features at the Coast, some places in Mombasa have also recorded high crime rates, drug abuses and other crimes.

Such vices turn some of these beautiful places to a 'no-go-zone' for anyone.

Here are some of the places:

1. Nyali Bridge

This is the bridge that connects Mombasa Island with the mainland. It covers about 400 meters across the Indian Ocean, making it a nice place for one to view the ocean as well as taking nice pictures.

However, this is almost impossible because of the robbers who target mobile phones and other electronics, wallets and handbags. The thugs are also good swimmers who can dive into the ocean if they are confronted by the mob.

2. Kenya Ferry

Nice place to enjoy a free 'ride' across the Indian Ocean and witness how the ferry moves on water. You can also enjoy the coolest breeze while at the middle of the ocean.

However, the dangers at this point include pickpockets who are ever present, commuters pushing each other while making their way into the ferry, they end up breaking your valuable items like electronics, one might sustain injuries in the process especially for new comers.

3. Beaches

They are beautiful places where you can join up with friends to enjoy a swim together, engage in other beach activities like beach football among other nice stuffs.

The bad things here include beach boys, a big threat to ladies. They trick unsuspecting women into sexual actives. Thugs snatching phones is another danger at the beaches. They come in a group of five to ten young men where one of them snatches your phone and run away with it. Other thugs will start escorting him with a fake chase.

The rest will be comforting you with "you will get another phone, don't chase him because he is always armed."
