Being in a relationship requires that you have equal feelings and affection for each other. Well, that may exist but your relationship may not really be the best around and you may not notice it. It may seem the perfect relationship as you enjoy a lot of things together but it will take a special instinct to notice that there is actually nothing in between you.
Being great around each other and enjoying one's company does not really mean you can end up being great. But what are these signs that show you have nothing going on between you? Here are some of the signs that show your relationship is not really based on love.
1. No passion
Love is a passionate feeling. Whenever lovers have the chance, there is a lot of affection involved and it may even lead to their losing it. But what does the lack of passion really mean? It may mean that you have a lot of respect for each other but that is a peculiar kind of respect. If you never have those intimate moments whatsoever, you may have a far more big gap in between that you may not know it exists. There is just little or no love there.
2. You hold space for one another
Again, this may be pegged on the respect you have for each other but what if the 'respect' is just an escape route to whatever you want to do. Love should bring you closer to each other and it may involve closing down some of those spaces. If you are okay with space, just know that your partner can seriously walk away any time they want. It won't be a hard decision.
3. You talk more than walking the talk
In love, you have to actually do things that show that you strongly feel it to each other. If you are always fantasizing and not really doing what you talk about, it could be fair to refrain from saying you are in love. Such kinds of relationships don't really last. Once you have nothing to talk about or have virtually talked about everything, you may consider abandoning it.
4. You're equals in your roles
Doing equal roles is actually a very romantic way of showing your affection. However, it may come at a cost as well. Once you do that, you may lose the respect you have for each other and you may be resigned to quarrelling whenever something does not go right or one of you does not do what they are supposed to. It is dangerous. The love may be substituted eventually.
5. You do self-work together
Much as doing roles together may seem romantic, it is equally very delicate. Under these circumstances, love may slowly be substituted and you may lose them.
