Maangi, speaking when he presided over Mashujaa Day Celebration on behalf of his boss Governor James Ongwae on Saturday at Gusii stadium, said the ODM party leader must come out clear and tell Kenyans the necessary changes to be done in the constitution.

"Kenyans are being pushed to support the referendum without a clear knowledge of the necessary changes to be made. The former Prime Minister must stop being egocentric pushing for creation of more posts in government in his favor," he said.

The Deputy Governor added that Kenyans are struggling with poverty in villages and therefore, amending constitution should benefit people and not an individual who wants to be absorbed into government.

He called on politicians to stop politicizing the constitution amendments but, instead push for the amendments to reduce the huge wage bill.

Maangi warned Kisii residents against supporting the referendum blindly saying those who started the referendum debate must come out clear as to why the constitution is being amended.
