The county government of Nakuru has found itself on the spot over alleged inhumane act after 40 street kids were allegedly transported from Nakuru town and dumped at Tingoro forest in Eldama Ravine, Baringo county.

Kenyans led by Eldama Ravine member of Parliament Moses Lessonet have come out to condemn the move terming it a grosss violation of human rights.

Lessonet has called on the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti to investigate the issue and bring those behind the move to books as it is a criminal offense.

"It is criminal to move people from one location to another without their permission. I call upon the DCI Mr Kinoti to promptly investigate and action taken on those involved,” he said.

The kids who were transported on Wednesday night stormed a village in Eldama Ravine on Thursday morning where they were fed and deported back to Nakuru.

Nakuru government led by Governor Lee Kinyanjui has remained silent on the allegations and it still remains unclear who was behind the move  or what was the motive behind it.
