Speaking at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani during the Annual General Conference of the Akorinu Churches Assembly, Ruto said that he is glad President Uhuru had trust in him out of many able leaders in the country.

He also said that he cannot take for granted having been chosen to deputise Uhuru.

“Thank you for making me the person that I am today," he said in part.

The DP also assured President Kenyatta that he will support his government deliver on the promises they made to the people. He pledged to preach unity for the sake of economic development.

“We will ensure this great nation is united. All Kenyans will rally behind you because you care for all of us,” Dr Ruto said.

On his part, Uhuru said that he was not happy with the fact that some leaders from his backyard have continued to engage in early campaigns even after he warned them.

The President said that he will not condone leaders who want to derail his development agenda because of their selfish interests.
