Daniel Maburi said he is not responsible for his wife Dorine Bosibori's pregnancy on grounds that she conceived yet, he has been away from home.

"I have been away from home for 7 months. I just returned home only for her to tell me she is pregnant for me. Did I impregnate her in absence? Let her take the pregnancy to the man responsible since I won't accept to take care of a child I don't know," said Maburi.

Mr. Maburi said he has been hearing several stories of Bosibori since he left her at home and went to work.

"My parents have been calling me telling me how she loiters around with men but, I never wanted to chase her from home since I haven't witnessed her bad behaviors. It seems my parents were correct," he added.

A local Agnes Nyanchama said efforts by locals to have the couple solve the matter were in vain.

"Maburi threw out all his wife's belongings and asked her to leave. It is not clear where Bosibori got the pregnancy from since she said she is 4 months old pregnant yet her husband has been away for the last 7 months," said Nyanchama.

Area chief Benson Obiri said such cases are common more especially for women whose husbands are not at home.

"Men need to be vigilant to ensure wives don't get other men's pregnancy," said Obiri.
