Former KBC Sports journalist Milton Nyakundi has asked friends and family to help him give his wife a descent send-off.
Mrs Rebecca Njoki died last week with her friends claiming that she miscalculated footsteps before drowning into a river.
In a passionate appeal on a local WhatsApp group, Nyakundi said he will bury her on November 16 at his native Nyamira.
“We have started meeting daily at Garden Square (in Nairobi’s CBD) from 5pm. Burial date is Friday November 16, 2018 at our home in Nyamira (County) Please support me in giving my wife a befitting send-off. 0704 227 664. That for your prayers and support.”
He added: "She had head injuries and was probably pushed into the river after being attacked. I leave everything to God, I won't revenge."
Initial police report on the death contradicted with investigative officers saying that her two friends, who she had been drinking with, reported the incident immediately at Laikipia Police station.
But official account of the OB also indicates that the two friends may have not reported the incident the very evening the incident took place.
