“My Muslim brothers and sisters: the first few days are the tough ones. After that it gets easier. May Allah bless you as you continue with the fast and prayers” he tweeted.
As governor in charge of Machakos County, Joining Muslims brothers and sisters in celebrating their holy month is something special.
To many, it is a sign of respect to their religion. The holy month of Ramadan is a month that Muslims believe Prophet Muhammed revealed the Quran.
Early this week, in a message shared with the Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU), President Kenyatta wished all Muslims a goodwill message as they commence Ramadan.
"As our Muslim brothers and sisters devote themselves to strengthen their faith during this period, we join them in solidarity and recognise the place of faith in consolidating our national unity.
As you embark on this solemn pillar of your faith, I urge all of you to remember our nation in your prayers and may your devotion be rewarded," he said in his part of the statement.
