Citizen news anchor Jacque Maribe has distanced herself with what her fiancée Joseph Irungu alias Jowie might have done while they cohabited at Royal Park estate in Lang’ata.
In an affidavit seen by citizen.co.ke, Maribe tells the high court that she should not be held accountable for her lover’s conduct while at her house.
“I cannot account for how the 1st Accused stayed in my house, how he used it and its environs, where he went, the people he hosted and those who hosted him, the places he went with my car, his friends and otherwise, who and what he carried in the car who he spoke with verbally and or electronically (telephone, email etc),” Maribe said.
Maribe and Jowie are being held as the murder suspects in Monica Kimani’s killing.
The 28-year-old was found callously murdered at her house in Kilimani at the posh Lamuria Garden apartments.
Her body had been dumped in the bathtub with her throat slit.
Police have seen established that Jowie was the last person to be seen in the house of the deceased.
Jowie and Jacque will appear before Justice James Wakiaga on October 24 for the hearing of their bail application.
