CS Fred Matiang'i has vowed to deal harshly with criminals in Kisii and Nyamira counties.
Speaking on Saturday at Bomondo SDA in Nyamira County Matiang'i said youths who have joined gang groups to terrorize innocent residents in Kisii and Nyamira will not know peace.
"I want to reiterate my is readiness to clobber all criminals and terrorists who are becoming a threat to innocent people in villages. Youths should stop venturing into drug abuse which will lead them to join criminal groups since the law won't spare them," said Matiang'i.
He lauded police officers who have been working hard to ensure cattle rustlers in the two counties.
"I wish to congratulate police officers for their tremendous efforts of protecting residents to an extent that cases of livestock theft have gone to zero. No criminal will be tolerated no matter what," noted Matiang'i.
The former education cabinet secretary appealed to Kisii County commissioner Godfrey Kigochi and his Nyamira counterpart Amos Mariba to work around the clock to ensure residents are safe throughout.
Matiang'i challenged parents to report their children to authorities when they develop any unusual behaviour.
