Police in Nairobi have arrested a man suspected to have used a sharp knife to cut the neck of Monica Nyawira Kimani at Kilimani.

Nyawira was found murdered and her body dumped into a bathtub.

Joseph Kuria Irungu, popularly known as Jowie, has been arrested in connection with the brutal murder.

Jowie is Citizen TV news anchor's Jacque Maribe lover.

The trained mercenary was arrested as a suspect to the murder as police could not corroborate a shooting incident he reported at Lang'ata Police Station.

According to sources, Irungu claimed he had been attacked and shot at the gate of the apartment along Dennis Pritt road where Monica lived last week on Thursday.
