Kenyans on Twitter have lashed out at an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) politician for looking down upon the role controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna played after 2017 disputed presidential election.
In his new book, Treason: The Case Against Tyrants and Renegades, Miguna puts himself at the centre of formation of the National Resistance Movement which announced a boycott of certain products and planned the swearing-in of its leader Raila Odinga.
He further takes credit for himself in administering Raila's oath amid threats of treason charges from President Uhuru Kenyatta's government.
But speaking to Citizen TV on Wednesday, Homa Bay Women Representative Gladys Wanga dismissed Miguna's assertions saying he was a latecomer in the 'liberation struggle'.
"Miguna Miguna cannot lecture me on ‘resistance'. He was never with us. He came in at the last minute in the struggle," Wanga said in the televised interview.
The remarks, however, didn't go well with a section of Kenyans who observed that the exiled lawyer was the true face of resistance in the country.

"At least Miguna Miguna is very consistent, never a watermelon, stands for what he believes in," remarked a user, Dr Mark Ojuok.
One Brian Mwema challenged Wanga.
"Ask yourself these questions 1.Why was he deported? 2. Why was he locked in a toilet? 3. Why was he denied his rights as a citizen of Kenya? All these lead to one answer which is; he fights for the people not for the "handcheques" and "power"," noted Mwema.
Fred Ja Ponge posted: "I am not stupid but my one vote will either go as not voted or to someone consistent like Miguna Miguna."
