Professor Makau Mutua has alleged that Deputy President William Ruto is one a mission to end the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and African Union High representative on infrastructure Development Raila Amolo Odinga.
Makau alleges that Ruto and his allies have been shaken by the handshake between the duo.
He says Ruto and his team are ready to do anything to make it collapse.
Mutua claims that the second in command and leaders allied to him want to frustrate Uhuru so that he can give up on the fight against runaway graft.
“It’s clear William Ruto and his brigade are counterpunching Uhuru Kenyatta. Looks like a slow motion “civilian coup” within Jubilee to kill the “handshake” and tame Kamwana — make him a lame duck and eviscerate war on corruption @ahmednasirlaw @DonaldBKipkorir – at Garden Of Eden,” he Tweeted on Tuesday.
The remarks come at a time when investigations have been unveiled into the alleged loss of Sh21 billion allocated to Arror and Kimwarer dams has been lost.
Ruto and his allies have affirmed that the contractors can account for every single coin they paid you. On his part, Raila has urged Ruto to support Uhuru as he seeks to leave behind a legacy before 2022.
The entry of Raila into Jubilee has caused jitters among leaders allied to DP Ruto.
