Moses Odwar Osore was charged with threatening to fix James Otieno Osori at the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission with corruption charges if he failed to remit some commission to his company.

The police told Makadara Senior Principal Magistrate Anjelo Kithinji that the accused attempted to extort from the complainant by forcing him to remit the money to his Bill Max Insurance Company in August, 2018.

The police said that the plot flopped after Osori detected the trap set for him by Osore and his accomplices who had threatened that he had to give the money to be on the safe side.

The complainant reportedly reported the case to the police, leading to Osore's arrest on May 24, 2019, reports the Standard.

However, the accused denied the claims, terming himself a faithful businessman who is enjoying admiration from a good number of upcoming businesspeople.

He added that he is a man of integrity and a humble background, and has nothing to do with the said charges.

He was set free on a Sh100, 000 with an option of a Sh50, 000 cash bail, with the judge setting September 9 as the date of the next hearing.
