The house, expected to be a temporary structure before the country erects a bulding that will habour county offices, is also said to have been built in a vetenary land.

Led by George Abuga, they insisted that the minister in charge of Public Works John Omanwa awarded the tender to a company closely associated with him as an avenue of looting.

"This is impunity of the highest order. We have written to the DPP, EACC and DCI to investigate the minister.

"He's arrogant and has openly stolen from people. We shall also call for demonstrations in tow weeks time," he told reporters.

The building, which is supposed to be a prefab, is located few meters from Borabu Hotel in Nyamira.

However, Omanwa, a close ally of Governor John Nyagarama, insisted that the claims were raised out of 'malice and character assassination' adding that he's ready to prove the worth of the building.

"People are talking out of ignorance. We shall have two blocks one with 13 offices and another one to host 10 ministers. We shall have septic tanks in addition," he said.

Already, residents of Nyamira led by Sammy Charana have vowed to have the minister kicked out of the office with demonstrations also being part of the plan.

They have also challenged DPP Noordin Haji to chip in and investigate the contract, which they insist is the worst since the flopped idea of planting flowers in Nyamira town.

Mr. Omanwa has served in various dockets since 2013 and comes from the Governor's Bonyamatuta clan.
