Just hours after West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi led residents in mourning former Minister Henry Obwocha's death, more leaders from the region have also sent condolences.
Obwocha, who served as West Mugirango MP from 1992 to 2007, died on Saturday morning despite having attended a funeral on Friday at his backyard.
And Nyamira governor John Nyagarama termed his death as 'tragic loss' to the county.
"This is a tragic loss. We have lost one of the fearless fighters in our county."
Area senator Okong'o Mogeni said the death was sad news given that he had attended a function with him on Friday.
"It's sad when you even attend with him a function hours to death. May the Lord give his family strength."
Similar sentiments were echoed by ODM treasurer Timothy Bosire who hailed the former minister as a true giant of multiparty democracy.
"He fought for multiparty democracy and will be remembered for that."
He served as Economic Planning Minister during Narc regime and was entrusted to hold brief at the energy ministry in 2006.
The first ten years in parliament he represented Ford Kenya before switching allegiance to Ford People in 2002.
Until his death, he was chairman for Kenya Privatisation Commission, position he assumed in 2015.
