Speaking at Etago playing ground on Thursday, Osoro said he is happy with the IG's directive that government vehicles are expected to follow the normal traffic flow and will not be allowed to overlap on the roads.

"I'm just a common citizen and I wish to confirm that I have no problem with Mutyambai's directive that we should follow traffic rules. The directive is good and came at the right time," he stated.

The NASA rebel MP noted that the directive is not ill-intentioned, adding that anyone requiring to be cleared on the road must get authority from the relevant officers.

"At times it is sad for some politicians to take advantage of their position in government to harass other motorists on our roads. I vow to adhere to the new directive since I'm not so important than other Kenyans," he stated.

While issuing the directive, Mutyambai noted that the decision was reached at following 'public outcry on the persistent inconvenience caused to other motorists by VIP and GK vehicles on public roads and highways'.

According to the directive by the IG, governors, senators and MPs will not be given preferential treatment on the roads, except on special cases where they will require authority by officers in charge of traffic in the respective regions.

Any driver found disobeying the set rules will be arrested and charged accordingly.
