Kisii County MP Janet Ong'era has been told to keep off the work of police officers.
This is after the lawmaker said Kenyenya police officers are lazy and have failed to apprehend the person who killed the form four female student Elvinah Moracha, two weeks ago and dumped her body in a fishpond.
Kenyenya OCPD Isaac Thuranira said the MP should focus on her legislative work and leave police officers to do their job.
"Mrs. Ong'era should give us time to prove the murder of the students and not telling the public lies that we are sleeping on the job. Detectives are on the ground probing the matter," he said.
According to Thuranira, the suspect(s) must be brought to book without delay.
He said the public should inform detectives any information which will lead to the arrest of the killers(s).
"Detectives need information so that they can arrest the person who killed the student. Leaders should stop politicizing the work of police officers," he said.
He assured the deceased's family that justice will be served.
The OCPD warned old men against luring school girls with money for sex saying the law will not condone illicit love relationships.
