A week after ODM National Governing Council meeting at Karen, Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama and his deputy Amos Nyaribo are embroiled yet again in a mother of all battles.
In a confidential letter addressed to the governor, Nyaribo accused the county government of recruitment of many people without following due process of the law, adding some of those workers are non existent.
"I am bringing to your attention that we are having many workers being paid by the county get due diligence wasn't followed when recruiting them. This was rampant in 2018," he protested.
It was not the first time Nyaribo was accusing his boss of irregular hiring of staff, with their encounter turning ugly last year, days after the governor had left for US for treatment.
But in a rejoinder, Nyagarama has accused Nyaribo of insincerity, adding that he is yet to receive any letter from the DG with regards to the matter raised.
"I haven't seen any letter to the same. I think this is being malicious and we cannot allow that. He is raising claims without any substantive evidence over the same," he said.
Early this week, County Secretary Erick Onchana said he is unaware of irregular hiring of staff but insisted that he would release list indicating all names of employees since 2013.
Currently, the wage bill stands at Sh5 billion, the highest ever in the country. It also represents 65 prr ceht of the total revenue share.
