Former TNA Secretary General Onyango Oloo has claimed that the new Transformation National Alliance Party (TNAP) was formed by Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria.

This, however, comes only days after the party's Secretary-General Arnold Maliba denied any links with the vocal Mt Kenya MP during an interview on Radio Citizen's Mjadala Wa Citizen on Wednesday.

Oloo who is currently the Kisumu County Assembly Speaker has however insisted that the party was formed by Kuria with an intention of taking over from the collapsing Jubilee Party, especially in Mt Kenya region.

"Moses Kuria has formed the party hoping to take over the Mt Kenya region after the apparently nearing collapse of Jubilee Party," he said on Radio Nam Lolwe on Friday morning.

Oloo who crossed over to the opposition's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ahead of the 2017 elections also noted that TNAP does not have any links with the now-defunct TNA party.

He said that TNAP doesn't have any relationship with the President Uhuru Kenyatta-founded block which folded and merged with 13 others to form the Jubilee Party in 2017.

He argued that contrary to TNA which had a nationwide outreach, TNAP is a regional party, proof that it is a new bloc trying to elevate itself to its desired position.

"TNAP is different from TNA. TNA had structures and was spread across the nation and had deep roots, unlike TNAP which is weaker. They don't have any relationship," he said.
