Popular Inooro FM counsellor-cum-presenter Anne Muratha has unveiled the other side of her before the name, fame and of course money.
In what many social media users would simply term in slang as 'TBT' or Throw Back Thursday, Muratha has posted on her Facebook account a video of her once popular worship song 'Twathinio Muno' (When We Are Overwhelmingly Troubled) that clearly shows that indeed many self-made celebrities come from far.
In Kikuyu, they would joke and say, as far as a pit latrine's soil. Yes, the simile would perfectly describe Muratha's seemingly steep and slippery journey to stardom which many may not be aware of, thanks to the video and the caption she accompanied it with.
"Wenye wako na tumiaka, you might have come across this song sometime. God is faithful....My advice to youths or anyone struggling with something out there is this: Before you give up on yourself, try one more time. Try one more thing," Muratha writes in parts.
She adds: "There is a door and a purpose for everyone. Explore all possibilities around you.....You might be failing in music or whatever you are doing but maybe that is not your thing."
Indeed, her lengthy video caption rhymes so well with the video itself.
Muratha did not shoot to popularity through her music but through her prowess in the counselling field which has made her a household name in many Kikuyu homesteads.
Back to the video, you can clearly see that Muratha was undoubtedly struggling in life as even the clothes she had donned for the song's video shoot are clearly oversized without mentioning that they were old-fashioned even going by that time's standards. Surely, God is faithful!
