Top Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidate Juliet Otieno has been offered Sh100,000 by the Atheists in Kenya Association.
In a statement, the association noted that Juliet will get the cash only after she registers to be a member of the group.
The atheist group noted that it was pleased with Juliet's performance and wanted her to join the group as a role model for other young people.
"Our leadership has decided to offer Juliet Kshs 100,000 in recognition of her exemplary performance on one condition.
She must register and become a member of our society BEFORE 15th of January 2019. We request her to register by visiting our website www.atheistsinkenya.org/membership.
We would like her to be a role model and brand ambassador for the society. If she agrees to register as a member, we promise to work with her in spearheading meaningful reforms in our education system, in particular, the push for religious educational reforms in our curriculum - we would like CRE, IRE, and HRE abolished from our education curriculum," the statement signed by the association's president Harrison Mumia read in part.
Juliet a former student at Pangani Girls emerged the best in the country with a mean grade of A plain.
