President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday gave a hint on what he might do in 2022 as he retires.
Political pundits have been predicting on what Uhuru is likely to do in his succession politics.
Within the Jubilee power plan, there was reportedly an agreement that Uhuru would hand over the baton to his deputy to continue with the party’s legacy.
However recently he said he will shock people with his choice of successor.
Such remarks have been causing jitters within Deputy President William Ruto’s camp.
On Friday, however, it appeared Uhuru will leave the race open.
He said all presidential hopefuls must be allowed to campaign and Kenyans choose he/she who has the best policies for the country.
Uhuru said.
The President called on all leaders to come together and only compete in terms of policies instead of diving Kenyans.
He spoke as he urged the need for leaders to embrace unity as demonstrated by his truce with ODM party leader Raila Odinga.
The burial was broadcasted to Kenyans live by KTN News.
