Speaking on Radio Citizen Monday morning, Aladwa noted that Sonko has no reason to fail in his mandate, pointing out that he has sufficient resources and revenue to deliver.

Coming at a time when the governor has blamed unnamed cartels as one of his main challenges, the former city mayor urged him to concentrate on crashing them instead of complaining to powerless Kenyans.

He further advised the county chief to not blame his predecessor Evans Kidero for leaving him with an ailing county, noting that it is now his turn and job to correct his predecessor’s mistakes.

‘’Sonko afanye kazi maana ako na pesa za kutosha. Asiwe wa kulaumu watu waliokuwa maana lazima achukulie alipoipata (he should not keep complaining but take the county from where he found it and better it),’’ he said.

‘’Cartels huenda wakawa lakini lazima kazi iendelee (he should not let the cartels prevent him from delivering),’’ said the parliamentarian.

Sonko has since been accused of failure to among others, clean the city despite a campaign promise to wipe the menace out within his first few months in office.
