A meeting by Devolution Cabinet Secretary (CS) Eugene Wamalwa in Baringo ended prematurely after Deputy President William Ruto-Gideon Moi rivalry played out.

Drama started when MPs William Kamket (Tiaty) and Charles Kamuren (Baringo South) clashed over who was to speak first.

Each of the two MPs claimed that Mukutani, the venue of the meeting, was in his constituency and therefore must speak first. Kamket grabbed the microphone saying he was the one to invite Kamuren.

Kamket is an ally of Kanu chairman Gideon Moi while Kamuren belongs to Ruto’s camp.

Baringo Governor Stanley Kiptis watched the drama in disbelief.

Efforts to calm the two MPs were futile and the meeting, where the CS and local leaders were donating goods and meant to open schools closed in the area due to attacks, came to a premature end.
