Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi has praised Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.
Gedi praised Sonko for appointing Ahmed Mohamed as a member of the Health Management Board at Pumwani Maternity hospital.
“Thank you Governor @MikeSonko for appointing Ahmed Mohamed alias @Asmali77 as a member, health Management Board of Pumwani Maternity Hospital,” Gedi tweeted.
Mohamed is a vocal public Relations and communication specialist who hails from Wajir.
He was appointed on January 14 as a member of the Pumwani Maternity Board in a special gazette notice by the Nairobi County Government.
Mohamed’s appointment comes as Governor Sonko's government works to streamline services at the Pumwani maternity hospital.
The maternity hospital has in recent months been hit with bad publicity.
Last year, there were allegations that bodies of nine infants were found stashed in paper-bags at the maternity hospital.
Allegations of babies being stolen at the hospital have also been reported in the past months.
