Child kidnapping is quite real and done in the country. Children are once in a while snatched and taken away.
People involved could be strangers, neighbours or even family members. Be keen on who is around your child, they could be up to no good. This includes both adult and children who are strangers.
Check out these signs and be vigilant;
1. Strange people acting as family friends or members
If your child encounters strangers who pretend to be their uncles, aunts or cousins and entice them to go with them either by giving excuses that they were sent by the parents or maybe the parents are in hospital, it is a warning they would snatch your child. Warn your child not to accept the company of strangers who pretend to be family friends or family members.
2. Unfamiliar children
Some strangers use children to kidnap the other. It is easy for children to get along together. These kidnappers are always close to where these children hold their chat. Ensure you warn your child not to associate with strange children, it could turn out to be worst.
3. A stranger asking the child for support
Strangers can approach your child and request for support. There is a danger. It sounds fishy for an adult to request assistance from a child and not from an adult person.
Strange people entice children with gifts such as sweets or toys in order to win them to their custody. Some even offer to provide transport lift to where the children are going. Warn your child not to accept gifts from strangers.
