Nyamira County Governor John Nyagarama has ignored calls by a section of locals who have ganged up to oppose the names of people he appointed to serve at Nyamira Municipality.
The county boss said upgrade of Nyamira town to a municipality is in a top gear and no resident is going to pressure him.
"I have already put board members in place to oversee the management of the municipality. Residents who are being incited to cause mayhem won't succeed because I am focused to deliver my campaign promises," he noted.
According to the ODM allied Governor, the municipality board members will help in solving problems that have hindered the growth of the town.
"Board members will work under instructions for the purpose of ensuring the town is growing. Previous challenges which have derailed the town's growth must be solve once and for all," he stated.
He insisted that the upgrade of the town is aimed at attracting more investors and spur the county's economic growth.
The county boss warned local desperate politicians against using poor residents to frustrate his leadership.
