Migori Governor Okoth Obado has indirectly taken a swipe at ODM leader Raila Odinga moments after the party settled on Ochillo Ayacko as senatorial candidate.
Central Committee on Friday picked Mr. Ayacko, a former gubernatorial aspirant citing lack of resources to conduct nominations.
And after beating Ayacko in appeals court at Kisumu, Obado accused the party of imposing leaders on electorates.
"He cannot use some people sitting in Nairobi just to make a decision on behalf of the people.
"That cannot happen and it's not welcome. We shall handle the matter. The seat must go to Rongo," he said.
While Raila prefers Ayacko, Obado has been rooting for Dalmas Otieno's candidature.
During the burial of Senator Ben Oluoch, Raila reconciled Ayacko with Obado in what was seen as a strategy to quell political temperatures in the region .
With Obado supporting Mr. Otieno, a battle of titans is expected since Ayacko has the full backing of ODM party ahead of October 8th polls.
