Mombasa County Governor Hassan Joho on Tuesday met Suna East lawmaker Junet Mohamed after the two publicly met last during the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) National Executive Committee and Parliamentary Group meeting at Flamingo Beach Resort in Shanzu, Mombasa. The meeting was chaired by Party leader Raila Odinga on June 18.

Joho who is ODM's deputy party leader met Junet who is also the ODM director of elections after he appeared before the Senate Public Accounts and Investments Committee. The Mombasa county boss had appeared before the Homa Bay Senator Otieno Kajwang-led Committee to respond to audit queries raised in the Auditor and Controller General’s report 2014-2015 financial year.

Junet, a staunch Raila supporter, and ally confirmed that Joho paid him a courtesy at his Nairobi office after the Senate committee meeting.

The lawmaker has been Odinga's close confidant especially during foreign trips where Odinga has occasionally been accompanied by him.

"ODM Deputy Leader and Mombasa Governor HE Hassan Joho paid me a courtesy at my office yesterday after appearing before the senate Public Account Committee," Junet twitted on Wednesday.

The details of their meeting remains a secret as Mombasa governor seeks to vie for the presidency through the ODM party come 2022 general elections.
