The fake news emerged on Tuesday noon.

Many social media users spent their better part of the mid-morning hours passing condolence messages for a kicking and breathing Okoth.

It later emerged the ailing MP was fine and importantly, responding well to medication.

Leaders have taken to social media to condemn the act that has disturbed, not only Okoth, but also his family members, and Kenyans at large.

"Fellow Kenyans, the Hon. @okothkenneth is alive and kicking. As he recovers from his ailment in the hospital in Paris, he feels disturbed by the unfounded rumours doing rounds on his life. We urge Kenyans and particularly those on social media to avoid spreading such rumours," tweeted ODM party.

Kenyans are praying for the MP with hope of those who wished him dead to see him live up to 100 years and even more.
