City lawyer Assa Nyakundi on Tuesday skipped his son's burial at Lang'ata cemetery with family members saying that he's still being treated of low pressure at Nairobi Hospital, reports the Nation.
Mr Joseph Nyakundi died a fortnight ago when his father, Assa Nyakundi, reportedly shot him accidentally when the duo had left church for Runda estate.
In a low key funeral, family members gathered at the cemetery for a brief service before laying to rest the 29-year-old former student of Diplomacy and International Relations.
His father still remained at Nairobi Hospital even as his statement to the police contradicted autopsy report. In his argument, Nyakundi claimed that the shooting was accidental.
But autopsy indicated that master Nyakundi struggled with assailants before being shot. The report indicated that he was shot from outside the vehicle contrary to the father's accounts.
It's not clear if the police will initiate murder charges against the Nairobi lawyer. A section of family members boycotted the funeral since the deceased was not taken to Gusii home for burial.
Nyakundi's elder son, Noah, had earlier suggested that his father may have intentionally shot dead the younger brother after a scuffle.
