According to the county boss, the estate, where the tea was growing had been grabbed.

The sleuths from the office of DCI roughed up the governor and took him to record statements in regard to the matter on Monday.

The supporters of the county boss attempted to stop his arrest before the detectives decide to lobby teargas at it to disperse them. It remains unclear why the Governor, who has been very vocal on matters of national interest, was taken to the Lake City pending investigations into his case.

"Arrest Govenor Sang but do investigate the land grabbing @DCI_Kenya @ODPP_KE @KenyaGovernors,"  she tweeted.

The arrest has continued to elicit mixed reactions from different factions. The office of the DPP has revealed that it will share more information as soon as new details emerge.

The arrest comes when President Uhuru Kenyatta has vowed not to tolerate corrupt individuals within his government. He has threatened to arrest officers linked to corruptions in different office .
