Anti-Terrorism Police Unit officers are looking into whether certain employees at the DusitD2 hotel were used to plan the attack that left up to 21 people dead.
Police said that after the gunfire stopped when the commander of the attackers was felled by a sharp shooter, something curious hit the officers.
The commander was in one of the hotel’s bulletproof room with a cache of weapon including bombs and ammunition.
“It took us very long to break into the room because the armoured door was very difficult to break. When we finally did, the commander, who was the last person to be killed, had so many grenades and rounds of ammunition in the room,” a police source told the Star.
Some of the weapons were reportedly found in different drawers wrapped up in hotel laundry bags.“We suspect an inside job considering these people had been frequenting the place as they schemed the attack,” the source added.
The new angle in the investigations means several people from the premise will be of interest to police.
By Friday, police had arrested nine suspects in connection to the bloody attack.
