Sakaja speaking during a television interview at Citizen Television on Wednesday night said the historic handshake between the two leaders has led to improvement in the country’s economy.

“The handshake between Raila and Uhuru is the reason we are having peace as a country. Political cease fires went down after Raila agreed to shake hands with President Uhuru and work with the Jubilee government towards realizing development,” he said.

The Jubilee senator urged Jubilee and NASA leaders to work closely for the sake of development across all corners of this country.

Sakaja pleaded with Ford Kenya Party leader Moses Wetangula to stop criticizing Raila’s decision to shake hands with President Uhuru Kenyatta saying it is not a time for politics.

“Wetangula should not see Raila as the enemy since Raila made a bold step to unite Kenyans by agreeing to support the Jubilee government. All we need is peace so that elected leaders can serve the electorates without any difficulties,” he noted.

He urged leaders irrespective of political affiliations to fight corruption among other impunity in the country which may derail development.
