Political analyst Ambrose Weda now claims that Homa Bay governor Cyprian Awiti has only himself to blame for the current disapproval by a faction of residents as far as his leadership is concerned.

This comes a week after some residents poured on the streets of the county to lament the reinstatement of his 2017 reelection by the Supreme Court on Thursday last week.

Speaking on Wednesday on KBC English Service's 'The Big Conversation' , Weda noted that the Governor's poor performance is the main reason why he is now becoming unwanted by the people and that residents are now regretting voting him in and want him out.

"People are now hating him because if his dismal performance. He seems to be a poor performer and they now want him out," he said.

However, he challenged the the residents complaining saying they are also to blame for electing and reelecting him simply because of being a member of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

"They elected him because Raila said so. Most elected him because of the directive that they elect ODM members all the way from the top down. They shouldn't be complaining," he added.

A section of his main rival and challenger in the elections Oyugi Magwanga's supporters have since rubbished the court decision, though he has personally accepted the results.
