Speaking on Radio Citizen's Jungu Kuu political show on Wednesday night, the parliamentarian noted that some MPs use such trips to do funny useless things.

He said that a section of them use the opportunities not to pick on what can be important to Kenyans, but because they have gotten the chance and cannot let it go.

"Some of them are simply out to use the taxpayers' money. Some don't even don't know what they should be doing during the bench marking sessions," said the parliamentarian.

Khamala said that others have been using such openings to shop at international malls and come back home with nothing for Kenyans.

"Wengine wanaenda tu lakini hata hawaelewi kizungu. Wanapotelea katika malls wakipiga shopping," he said.

(Some are completely lost. They just use the opportunities to shop in malls and come back home empty handed in terms of ideas).

A part from MPs, Members of County Assembly (MCAs) have also been under fire lately over their many foreign trips in the name of bench marking.
