Speaking on Tuesday, the MP noted that he has not at any point been seen questioning Uhuru's leadership, especially on matters service delivery for political survival.

He said that he has been trying to avoid being seen as a rebel MP, considering that he is in office courtesy of the ruling Jubilee Party which is led by Uhuru as its party boss.

"If I take to burials to tell him that he is doing the wrong thing, the media will quote me as a rebel MP (Nikienda pale katika matanga kumwambia unachofanya ni mbaya media wataninukuu eti mimi ni mwasi )," he said.

Barasa was speaking on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha on Tuesday morning.

He said that his only constitutional avenue of doing the same remains through Parliamentary Group meetings, which do not come that frequently.

However, Barasa pointed out that he has been presenting his concerns to the president using other avenues, and at times through Deputy President William Ruto.

"At times when we sit for lunch or breakfast, I tell him to make changes here. Some are looked into and others are not (Wakati mwingine tukikaa labda katika chakula cha mchana au asubuhi namwambia hapa badilisha. Zingine zinaangaliwa na zingine haziangaliwi)," he added.

However, he has not been as docile on political matters and has been among the leaders pushing Uhuru to remain true to his initial vow to endorse Ruto as his successor in 2022.
