Zarika was full of gratitude to her fans and thanked them for making the win a possibility.

"I really thank my fans for the support and being here. I am nothing without you. It is because of you that I have won. Thank you and God bless you all," the emotional Zarika said.

"When the fight began, i wanted to use the first round to read her game. In the second and third round, I thought she would enter my hand (succumb to me) but she escaped my punches," she added.

On the same day, Zarika's brother and former Gor Mahia captain Musa Mohammed steered the national team Harambee Stars to a 1-0 win over soccer giants Black Stars of Ghana in their AFCON qualifier match played at the Kasarani stadium.
