Amani National Congress (ANC) Secretary General Godfrey Osostsi has doubted the party leader Musalia Mudavadi’s ability to realize his presidential ambition.
Mudavadi has repeatedly declared that he will take a second shot at the top post in 2022.
However, speaking on Radio Maisha Monday morning, the nominated lawmaker said that Mudavadi stands no chance and will suffer a defeat as was the case in his first attempt in 2013, advising him to reunite with opposition leader Raila Odinga to realize the bid.
Citing the Kenyan political arena, Osostsi noted that only two camps will be relevant in the race, one being Deputy President William Ruto’s and the other being Odinga’s, saying that Mudavadi will have to be in one of the two sides.
‘’Wale wanaomdanganya eti anaweza kuleta mrengo wa tata wanampotosha. Itabidi aungane na Raila ndio aweze kuendelea (let him not be fooled that he can introduce a third force, he must reunite with Raila to realize his dream),’’ said Osotsi.
He cautioned Mudavadi against Joining Ruto’s side, saying that he has no future in the DP’s camp and only stands a chance of getting a backing in Raila's camp, based on their long-time union.
''Amefanya kazi na Raila mara nyingi, kwa hivyo ni Raila tu ndiye anayeweza kumsaidia (he has a history with Raila, making him the one person who can help him realize his bid),’’ added Osotsi.
Osotsi forms part of the ANC team which also includes Kakamega and Vihiga Senators Cleopa Malala and Goorge Khaniri, which has since been tagged ‘ANC rebels’ over its many attacks on the leader.
Mudavadi is, however, is yet to disclose both his party or running mate for the race.
