Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Monday held talks with the British High Commissioner to Kenya Nic Hailey.

In a brief statement shared on his social media pages, the former Prime Minister confirmed that Hailey appreciated the truce between him and President Kenyatta.

"Held talks with the British High Commissioner to Kenya Nic Hailey who expressed their appreciation of the working relationship between myself and President Uhuru Kenyatta, which has stabilized the country," noted Raila in the statement shared on Twitter.

The two leaders also held deliberations on various initiatives the government is undertaking and the need for collaboration between Kenya and the UK.

"We also exchanged views on the Building Bridges Initiative, the war on corruption and the U.K’s support for Kenya’s economy through private sector investments and political developments in the region," disclosed Raila.

Kenya has been enjoying diplomatic ties with the UK. In August last year, UK Prime Minister Theresa May visited the country and held extensive talks with President Uhuru Kenyatta. 

Thew one day visit was deemed crucial for Kenya’s trade ties with the UK.
